It considers the most popular business process modelling and requirement definition methods, and gives training in business process modelling and development of the request for proposal for information systems in production management..

The aim of the course is to give an insight in the notion of information systems, information system components and its role in industrial management. The course has the following tasks: To provide an opportunity to get acquainted with capabilities of computer-based industrial information systems. To provide a business process modelling competency. To provide a competency to develop a Request for Proposal. To give an opportunity to obtain skills in the use of business process modelling and analysis software.

Student understands the role of information system (IS) in production management. - Related questions at test and/or examination.
Student knows the main components of production management IS and lyfe-cycle models of this type of IS. - Related questions at test and/or examination.
Student is able to develop a business process model and to use it for defining requirements. - The process model is developed by student using a business process modelling tool. Requirements for IS are defined on the basis of the developed model.
Sudent is able to write a request for proposal (RFP) for IS in production management. - The request for proposal is developed and presented.
