Annotation The module "Applications of Manufacturing Simulation" is aimed at overviewing simulation application for analysis and operation improvement of manufacturing systems. The module discusses fundamentals of complex systems simulation, as well as its application for manufacturing systems modeling. Examples of simulation-based analysis and operation improvement of manufacturing systems are discussed, including practical experience of Latvian companies. Students acquire practical skills in realization of acquired simulation methods on the basis of Simul8 simulation software..

Competencies and skills demonstrated: knowledge of the process of complex systems simulation and ability to implement it for the analysis and operation improvement of manufacturing systems. Having completed this module, students should comprehend the simulation process and be able to implement it for discrete-event systems, as well as to perform simulation-based analysis and operation improvement of manufacturing systems.
