The study subject demonstrates the development and role of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Latvia and worldwide. Study subject explores public opinions on social responsibility in business environment through analysis of situations of moral dilemmas. Introduce business ethics and introduce a modern approach to solving typical business issues. .

Students are able to describe business theories and principles of business ethics, they are able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. - Exercises, situations, tests. Criteria: ability to put the acquired knowledge into practice.
Students understand the trade-offs that a company will have to face in order to combine and simultaneously realize its' “civic” (social) role and direct commercial activity. Students are able to transform these trade-offs into opportunities for both the company and society - Group project - analysis of real (last three years) business situation. Presentation of results. Exam work.
Students are able to justify their decisions and understand the benefits of implementing a CSR strategy. Students are able to use the knowledge and skills they have acquired in business decision-making. - Case study - CSR in company operations. Presentation of results and participation in discussions. Exam work.
