The course highlights the main trends in the mechanization of construction. Main attention is given to the development of criteria for building machines and to complex evaluation of its effectiveness. The course deals with the selection of building machines according to load and working conditions. Particular attention is given to use of new methods in building including impact-pulse technologies for compacting of concrete and ceramic materials; mechanical, thermal and hydraulic techniques and equipment for cutting and destruction of concrete; modern specialized transportations means used in construction processes; new welding equipment; metal coating technology and equipment; new drilling machines; hydro- and pneumatic systems and its use in mechanization of building processes; electrical technologies in construction; anticorrosion protective materials and its coating techniques; new loading/unloading machines design and application. The course highlights the mechanization and partial automation of construction processes. The exploitation aspects of nowadays construction machinery are discussed..

|The aim of current course is to prepare professionals, who understand the main tendencies of mechanization of construction processes. Students will be able to select the facilities of mechanization taking into account materials, conditions of usage, and equipment parameters. Students must be competent in selection of modern construction machinery and equipment, as well as in the field of productivity and safety during operations.|
