In course students will be introduce with full range manufacturing process, including developing material structure, manufacturing samples, testing and comparing test results with theoretical calculations..

Introduce students with different modern materials, take a close productions techniques and testing methods. • Introducing with different modern materials – fibers, laminates, polymers and compositions; • Introducing with usage techniques, creating materials in laboratory and testing using experimental equipment; • Discover widths range of material usage, expertly specifically usage for Latvia climate properties.

Acquire principles of composite material calculations - Form of assignment: Assessment work,calculation methodology developed by use of the mechanical properties of the assessment, presented the method for estimating certain characteristics of the evaluation. Assessment Criterion: knowledge of principles and methods for mechanical calculations
Self – knowledge of modern material production technique. - Form of assignment: Laboratory practice, acquainted with materials, technology, analysis of specific technology application of preparing. Criterion: identification and usage knowledge of different materials which it considers to be marked.
Self-capable appraise modern material usage in different building constructions - Form of assignment: Assessment work, presented report on different materials in construction applications. Assessment Criterion: possibilities of self- solving analyses methods for different constructions which it considers to be marked.
Knowledge of using different material testing methods for determination material mechanical properties - Form of assignment: Laboratory practice mechanical tests of materials made by determining the mechanical properties of concrete. Criterion: possibilities of choosing different testing methods for current materials properties which it considers to be marked.
Course prerequisites The general idea of the material resistance and elasticity theory.
