Annotation The environmental management systems course is based on the analysis of environmental management systems in Latvia and reviews environmental management experience in European and other countries. The analysis includes national institutions, regional environmental agencies, structures, goals, inspections and NGOs, as well as how to resolve environmental issues on the municipal level and within the private sector..

To acquire theoretical knowledge on the principles of environmental management systems according to international principles ( EMAS and ISO 14001)and practical experience on its application in Latvia, Europe and elsewhere. To acquire practical skills on resolving environmental issues on the municipal level and in the private sector.
