To gain knowledge on natural resources, their extraction and utilization. To acquire ability to analyze the aspects of resource extraction and utilization, as well as to assess impact on the surrounding environment, and optimize processes of the resource cycles’ stages, basing on the gained knowledge.
Learning outcomes
and assessment
Ability to identify and classify natural resources by their origin and utilization. - Examination: study works’ task, test. Assessment criteria: is able to determine adherence of resources to different groups, as well as to name their utilization sectors.
Ability to identify resources and raw materials, which ensure industrial processes, as well as their aspects of impact on environment - Examination: reports, test. Assessment criteria: is able to determine natural resources involved in the production process and to explain their utilizations’ impact on environment.
Ability to analyze rationality of resource utilization - Examination: discussion, test. Assessment criteria: is able to compare different ways of resource utilization and its parameters.
Ability to optimize processes of natural resource extraction and utilization by providing proposals for their sustainability - Examination: study works’ task, discussion. Assessment criteria: is able to determine the optimum parameters of resource utilization, and to provide proposals for sustainable resource management.
