Annotation The study course is analysis of role of environmental engineering among other sciences, urgency of topic in society, environmental problems and their impact on future generation and other issues related to environmental problems. Study course lectures are dividend into three main modules: Module 1: water, air and soil pollution problems; Module 2: innovative technological solutions; Module 3: impact on climate change and environmental assessment. Lectures are supplemented by role plays, green patrols and practical assignment. Study course is intended for students of any university speciality as free choice course..

To obtain knowledge about environmental protection and climate change problems and to pay attention to air, water and soil pollution causes and analyse the possibilities to diminish these causes. To comprehend actual environmental problems and solutions as well as how students’ study topic, speciality and professional career will affect environmental pollution and climate change. Student is able to state main environmental problems and their causes and has knowledge about different environmental research and management methods. - Examination: role plays, test Assessment criteria: student stated main environmental problems, describes how to solve them.
Students is able to perform simple environmental impact assessment of selected product and state main environmental aspects. - Examination: practical work, test Assessment criteria: performs simple environmental impact assessment of selected product.
Can state main principles of environmental policy. - Examination: role plays, test Assessment criteria: states main principles of environmental policy.
When solving complex problems is able to consider environmental damage caused by problem and find solution to decrease it. - Examination: role plays, green patrols, practical work Assessment criteria: student can demonstrate how environmental factors influence decision making process.
