|To give training and to accumulate the knowledge in design practice of civil engineering applications by employing commercial software package ANSYS and meta modelling software packages developed at RTU - EDAOpt and Varireg. To understand and learn full cycle procedure of optimal design of structures.|
Ability to define optimization problem for civil engineering applications - Form of assignment: Laboratory practice.
Criterion: Student without assistance is capable to define optimization problem: parameter selection, domain determination, objective function formulation, constrain selection.
Ability to perform full optimization cycle by employing different automated design software packages - Form of assignment: Laboratory practice. Criterion: Ability to perform full optimization cycle by employing different automated design software packages.
Ability to carry out experiment design and statistical analysis - Form of assignment: Laboratory practice. Criterion: Ability to evaluate obtained results by using statistical methods.
