The study course "Civil Defense" includes basic knowledge of civil defense activities, normative acts, legal bases and organizational principles. Additionally information about different types of disasters that can threaten human life is obtained. During the course, students acquire skills to handle a natural disaster, explosion, fire, hazardous chemical leak, radiation case and to evacuate and use protective equipment..

|Provide opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in basic principles of civil protection and fire safety and to prepare for action and behaviour in case of fire and possible emergency situations. Provide knowledge and recommendations for the determination of the fundamental origin of technogenic risks and their implementation scheme.|
Students know the main elements of the civil protection system in the country, its tasks, its organisational principles and structure. - Control work
Students understand the nature of the planning of the national civil protection plan, the implementation of preconditions and the structure of the plan. - Control work
Students are able to identify potential hazards in the country, their types, charcateristics, consequences, and apply the acquired knowledge on objects of increased danger. - Laboratory works on topics: Dangerous chemicals and products, Radiation safety, Danger of explosion.
