1. To provide knowledge on contemporary medical equipment, its operating principles and structures; 2. To develop skills necessary for equipment analysis and synthesis; 3. To enable students to enhance their understanding on medical equipment modelling and prototyping.

Ability to name important medical equipment features, identify corresponding risk factors, classify medical devices according to various features - Examination, including examination assignments
Ability to name technologies used in various clinical fields, explain technology goals and main principles, as well as name appropriate equipment - Examination, including examination assignments
Ability to explain and illustrate the operating principles and designs of medical devices, formulate requirements, name design characteristics, evaluate potential risks - Examination, practicum report
Ability to choose / develop the design for measurement equipment and its main blocks, select required components, assemble a working prototype and evaluate its operation parameters, as well as present results - Practicum report (methodology, findings)
